Inaugural Higher Education Awards - East Africa application closing on 31st March



If you are planning to apply for the Higher Education Awards – East Africa (HEA- East Africa), you should be wrapping up your application as you only have two days to do so. According to the Awards website, you have until the midnight of 31st March to submit the application.

The Higher Education Awards-East Africa initiative is a special Initiative focused on skills and competences in education and research and their relevance to the region’s economic, social, and cultural development flanks. The initiative aims to promote excellence in the teaching of science and intellectual research in universities and other higher institutions of learning in East Africa.

The initiative is designed to inspire academia’s and research scholars, create strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and contribute to a harmonized education and research system in the region for enhancement of human resource to accelerate science-led technology-driven economy in the region and the African continent.

There are 20 categories which applicants can choose to apply in and institutions, researchers, innovators and private entities from across the East African community are eligible to participate. This year’s winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Serena Hotel on Saturday 29th May 2021.

Accepted submissions shall be based on projects, initiatives or endeavors that commenced prior to the 2019-20 academic year, provided that core achievements have taken place during this main period of focus. Judges will also accept evidence that has come to light after the close of the 2018-19 academic year if this further underline success; and the organizers are not charging for application.
