Falling Walls Foundation has announced its Female Science Talents Programme winners for 2022. This follows a call for participation which ran in the last quarter of 2021.
The purpose of the programme is to inspire and empower talented women in science, who have a strong background in research, to make their next career step. The foundation helps young talents to pursue flexible career paths and supports them in building an international network.
The 20 young women scientists selected include; 15 from Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and Israel), 1 from USA and Singapore respectively and 3 from Africa (Kenya, Uganda and South Africa). For the next one year, they will be provided close support with the goal of increasing their visibility and help them achieve a personal career breakthrough. They will also get the opportunity to meet outstanding women leaders and are matched with high-profile mentors.
They shall participate in intensive training both online and in-person in Berlin; regular meetings are held to encourage the 20 scientists to build an international success team for peer learning, peer coaching, and mutual support. To promote the champions’ international visibility and impact, Falling Walls shall include their stories and achievements in Falling Walls Social Media campaigns, and have them speak in a public event set during the Berlin Science Week in November.
The call was open to all researchers with a doctorate and postdocs or comparable qualification levels from all disciplines at university and non-university research institutions worldwide. The call is recurring and opens each year in the last quarter of the year
