Cornell University announces its call for 2022 fellowship

Cornell University at the Society for the Humanities invites potential scholars and artists for its fellowships that reflect on the 2022-23 theme of Repair.

The annual fellowships aim to reward each fellow with $56,000. Fellows are expected to spend their time in research and proposal writing and are required to participate in a weekly Fellows Seminar.

Their approach to the humanities should be broad enough to appeal to students and scholars in several humanistic disciplines.

Applicants must have received the PhD degree before January 1; 2021. The Society for the Humanities will not consider applications from scholars who received the PhD after this date. They must have one or more years of teaching experience, which may include teaching as a graduate student. International scholars are encouraged to apply.

Fellows are expected to forge connections outside the classroom and the lecture hall activities like sharing meals, participation in the weekly seminars and attending post-lecture receptions and other casual events throughout the year.

The application deadline is September 20, 2021.
