DAAD to host PhD Proposal Writing Workshop in Tanzania



The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is planning to host a PhD proposal writing workshop to be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on May 15, 2019.

The workshop is meant to prepare qualified candidates for funding opportunities to do a PhD in Germany, according to an announcement by DAAD.

Training will be offered by highly experienced DAAD alumni from around East Africa, and while no fees will be required, applicants will cater for their own accommodation and transport.

Interested participants will be required to submit an abstract of the planned research project of not more than 400 words in word format with the name of the author, title of the abstract, the problem statement, clearly stated objectives and methodology.

Other requirements include the provision of a scanned electronic copy of the Master’s degree certificate which must not be older than 6 years, accompanied by a specification of which German university they intend to do their PhD and why,  and their expectations of the workshop.

Applicants still waiting to sit for their Master’s thesis must provide a scanned electronic copy of the letter confirming submission of the thesis from the university.

The deadline for application will be 29 April 2019.
