KEFRI gets New Director



The Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) has a new Director, Joshua K. Cheboiwo.

Dr Cheboiwo’s appointment took effect from 1st April 2019, according to an internal circular dated 29 March 2019 and released by Robinson Ng’ethe representing the KEFRI board of directors. 

The appointment was done in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry following competitive interviews held on 9 July 2018 involving senior KEFRI officials. 

Until his appointment, Cheboiwo was the acting Senior Deputy Director in charge of Research and Development, a position he has held since April 2018.

He replaces Jane W. Njuguna who has been the acting director since 10 December 2018.
