Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and Université de Sherbrooke Collaborate to Promote Research



The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Morocco and the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will help foster and develop collaborations focused on training and applied research.

The two universities, which are defined by their innovative and operational approach, are expected to focus on research projects with a high social impact targeting specific issues.

According to a statement by UM6P, the initial phase of this partnership will focus on the valurization of industrial by-products or mining residues as part of the circular economic vision promoted by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

This project will be an opportunity to initiate international cooperation that allows the partner teams to federate their complementary research know-how and infrastructure to reach extraordinary achievements. Students, researchers and professors from both institutions will benefit from joint activities such as the co-publication of scientific articles, the co-development of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), as well as the co-organization of scientific conferences and symposium.

In addition, theses on issues related to solar energy and embedded electronics will be supervised by professors and researchers from UM6P, Université de Sherbrook, and GEP.

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University aims to position Morocco as an international platform of innovation to meet the major challenges and concerns of the African continent.
