EU and AU Launch Dashboard of Initiatives to Drive Collaboration and Innovation

The European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU) have joined forces to unveil the Dashboard of Initiatives, a dynamic platform aimed at advancing the implementation of the AU-EU Innovation Agenda and realizing their shared vision for 2030.

As strategic partners, the EU and AU recognize the critical importance of collective action to address global challenges such as climate change, security threats, digital transformation, and sustainable development. Moreover, they are committed to addressing Africa's unique needs, spanning infrastructure development, economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and good governance initiatives.

The introduction of the Dashboard of Initiatives marks a significant milestone in this collaborative endeavour. Serving as a "living inventory," the platform catalogues projects, programs, partnerships, and scholarships officially recognized as contributing to implementing the AU-EU Innovation Agenda. By aligning these initiatives with specific actions outlined in the agenda, the Dashboard aims to foster collaboration, leverage complementarities, and catalyze synergies among projects with thematic and geographical affinities.

Four key policy priorities have emerged for EU-AU cooperation in Research & Innovation: Public Health, Green Transition, Innovation and Technology, and Capacities for Science and Higher Education. The Dashboard is a centralized hub for showcasing initiatives that contribute to these priority areas, facilitating coordination and amplifying impact.

The Dashboard of Initiatives is poised to propel momentum for future collaborations and initiatives aligned with the AU-EU Innovation Agenda. By enhancing visibility and coordination among stakeholders, the platform reinforces existing efforts while driving innovative solutions to address shared challenges.

Through the Dashboard, stakeholders from both regions are encouraged to explore collaboration opportunities and contribute to the collective advancement of research, innovation, and sustainable development objectives. As initiatives continue to be added to the platform, it is expected to serve as a dynamic tool for tracking progress, fostering partnerships, and catalyzing transformative change in the EU-AU partnership.
