The African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) has achieved a significant milestone by including Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) of Morocco as its newest full member. UM6P's accession marks a historic moment as the first institution from Northern Africa to join the esteemed network, elevating the total count of full-member universities within the Alliance to 20 and expanding the overall membership to 23.

Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique is renowned for its dedication to applied research and innovation, particularly with a focus on advancing Africa's development. As a knowledge hub committed to propelling the continent forward, UM6P emphasizes advanced research, high-level education, and fostering innovation as core components of its mission. The university is known for its innovative pedagogical approach, prioritising experiential learning and practical application to drive education and research forward.

The ARUA community has warmly welcomed UM6P's accession, expressing excitement at the university's potential to contribute to the diverse programs and collaborations within the network. With UM6P on board, ARUA aims to cultivate enhanced collaborative research initiatives, bolster graduate training programs, refine research management practices, and advocate for academic excellence across Africa.
