The 2026 Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (RFSD) aims to assess progress and exchange knowledge, best practices, and policy solutions to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in line with regional priorities. The Forum is one of several regional forums that will convene as part of the preparatory process for the 2026 session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will organize the annual intergovernmental forum in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the UN system organizations. In alignment with the 2026 HLPF, the Forum will conduct in-depth reviews of SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation), SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the Goals). The Forum will also support countries presenting their voluntary national reviews (VNRs) at the 2026 HLPF.
